Director’s Note
‘Mera Pind-My Home’, as the name itself suggests, is essentially a film woven around the plot and backdrop of a Punjabi village with its typical characters and their own set of challenging and trying circumstances However, contrary to the underlying NRI themes of my earlier productions, this time the film aims to send out a clear cut message to Punjabis. We always talk of Punjabis going abroad and achieving great success there. We Punjabis have made it possible because we are hardworking people. But, it is a pity that back home, in our own land the work culture is missing today. Why is this happening? Why can’t we work here like we work abroad? This question has inspired me to make a film on this subject. I believe if we bring that Western work culture back home, we can change the face of Punjab.
